The Hanes Makerspace is located in the basement of Hanes Art Center.  This space houses a laser cutter, T-shirt press, a variety of drills and power tools, and a ShopBot for cutting/carving/drilling.  For more information on this space, check out uncbeam.org.

The Kenan Science Library Makerspace and Research Hub is located on the ground floor of Venable Hall. This space offers free 3D printing to students by request and hosts many workshops on diverse topics such as a series on electronics, 3D Design with Tinkercad, and Design Thinking. KSL Makerspace staff are also available for consultations for any making project.

UNC’s flagship makerspace, the Murray Makerspace, is finally open for the Fall 2016 semester!  This brand new space has 3D printers, lasercutters, woodworking equipment, metal working equipment, electronics, and so much more!  There is also classroom space for workshops to be held.  For more information on this space, check out uncbeam.org.
